The big debate – Who is right??

My wife and I went to a party the other night. It was a couples potluck party. What is a Couples potluck party? It is a get together where you take a quiz about how much each couple knows each other. But those questions isn’t where my wife and I got into our big debate. It was the potluck item.

The potluck item was supposed to be a couple item (for example chips & salsa or peanut butter and jelly). My wife said I was in charge of it and I wanted to do something different. I was going to do celery and peanut butter but when I mentioned to my wife that I was going to make some celery and spray cheese  confusion flooded her face.

“Celery and spray cheese? Really?” She can’t believe I even suggested it.

“Yeah. It is super common. I have seen it all the time.” I have no idea where her confusion is coming from.

“I have never even heard of that before. You are crazy.” She just shakes her head at me.

That is our big debate. Celery and peanut butter normal but celery and spray cheese is ridiculous? How do you even settle this argument? I decided to make half the celery with peanut butter and half with the cheese hen see which ones were eaten during our party.

And the big winner?????

Cheese. That’s right who is crazy now??  Mu hahahaha.

What do you think? Heard of Celery and Cheese? Just a local Utah thing?

Not just a Utah thing, I assure you! Around here, it’s not usually spray cheese, but Cheez Whiz. Ate lots of that on celery as a kid! Prefer the PB, though… 😉

This Southern vegetarian has heard of both, but your wife wins for nutrition with fewer chemical additives, fewer preservatives, less sodium and less saturated fat percentage. I always enjoy your column. Thanks.
