The Battle is on – Teaching your daughter music.

Music

There is a battle going on in my house and I feel like I am losing. Why am I losing?

This battle all started when my daughter started to request a song to be played. Monster by Skillet

This song rocks and I was totally willing to play it as often as she asked.

My wife decided this if our daughter was requesting songs it needed to be a song she wanted to hear over and over. so she taught her one of her all time favorite songs Uptown Girl by Billy Joel

I have to admit it is super cute to see my daughter singing Uptown Girl. It isn’t quite the rocking that I had though. I need to pick a new song to teach my daughter. Suggestions? Should I go old school like Ice, Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice? Something newer? Do you think my four year old can sing Metallica?

we are having exactly the same problem with our niece. We try and teach her the joys of Metallica, My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park, Green Day, etc but her parents have terrible taste in music. When we’re in the car with our sister, we’ll only let her play Springsteen or Michael Jackson. However, most of the time our niece is subjected to One Direction, Akon, The Streets and Madness. We fear for her musical education πŸ˜€
