My daughter gives me pride in my parenting.

There are moments in life where you kid does something that makes you think you are doing something right. My daughter had a couple of moments like that recently. Not like she is out protecting lives or saving animals. She is only five.

Moment #1

We were having a party the other day and we had a bunch of drinks in a cooler. I grabbed a big bag of ice and my daughter begged to help. Of course she an help. So I crunch up the ice and open the bag to let her help move the ice cube by cube into the cool. My wonderful little girl starts to sing. “Ice Ice Baby” by Vanilla Ice. That’s right my little girl rocks.

Moment #2

To get my daughter to sit still long enough to do her hair my wife asks her “What princess do you want your hair to look like today?” I am not sure where I was when this big discussion took place but my daughter comes running out with two buns in her hair. Happy as can be.

“Dad, dad, guess which princess my hair is like today.” I can’t help but smile.

I know which princess she is but I want to make sure she knows. “Which princess princess.”

“I am Princess Leia. My hair is just like Princess Leia.” She does a little spin in the kitchen all proud as can be. Just not as proud as her dad. Love that little girl.
