We Finally Caved in to our Daughters Demands

For the longest time my daughter has been asking for a pet. She has asked for for quite a few and our normal response was “We will think about it.” To the point where she would say something like “I might get a turtle. My dad is thinking about it.”

The bargain we made with my daughter was if she got a pet

1) She would be the one that would take care of it.

2) It would have to be able to live on it’s own when we go on a vacation.

So we ended up with a ….. drum roll…… beta fish.

I know what some of you are thinking. A fish is not a real pet. That may be true but we didn’t really want a real pet. Seems like a good compromise. A win-win you might say. Our daughter got a pet and she is doing really good at taking care of it.  Not only that but we got some weird wheat grass tank that is supposed to clean the water.

By the way wheat grass grows fast. Very fast.

One Response to We Finally Caved in to our Daughters Demands

  1. Good for you! Kids need pets – and a fish qualifies! (BTW – I’m trying to talk my hubs into a turtle. Still haven’t gotten him convinced.)
